Ruth works as a printmaker and designer, mainly making screenprints from her small, home-based studio.
Having recently moved to Wales she is in the process of building a
permanent print workshop in an old barn. Ruth’s prints are all made by hand, she uses Fabriano hot-pressed watercolour paper for all of her work. It has a lovely, silk-like quality and holds the colour beautifully, it’s also acid free, which means it doesn’t fade or discolour.
Ruth likes to experiment with printed material, and a range of her work explores collage and layering of printed materials. Plants and gardens are a key feature in her work along with her interest in mid-century design
