Rachel Thornton

Rachel is a full-time artist working with ambitious and experimental printmaking methods. She continuously experiments and expands on the methods and materials she uses. This love for experimentation has brought forth her own unique ways of creating and has allowed her to develop a unique style and form, combining printmaking, painting and wood carving methods to create one off natural artworks.

Rachel uses a mixture of lino and drypoint etching techniques molded for printing onto wood. Rachel is also a ‘Creative Champion’ for the Great Place: Lakes and Dales project. The project is about retaining and growing the young population through the use of arts and culture.

Rachel was awarded funding to do a self-led International studio exchange between rural Mexico and the UK, travelling to Mexico to work in January 2020. Rachel works from her studio in Bentham called STUDIO 42.

We will be adding this collection very soon.
