Louise is a Norfolk based printmaker working mostly in lino printing and etching. She draws inspiration and solace from nature around her, particularly so through the lockdowns where the open views from her home studio inspired a series of skies in all their glory, both calm and wild.
Her images start with a sketch before creating colour linocuts; she is often seen cycling around her local area and stopping to create a sketch that she thinks would make a good image. Louise’s studio is an extension built at the back of her house, which houses her Britannia Press. Exhibitions include the Summer Exhibition at Royal Academy, London, Mall Galleries & Bankside, London, ArtFair East and Norwich Print Fair. She has work selected in the V&A archives.
Louise first became fascinated with printmaking on her Foundation Course in Cambridge and furthered her skills on a BA(Hons) Fine Art at Sheffield City Polytechnic, then a Postgraduate at Camberwell School of Art and Crafts, London.
